Dinghy Sailing Courses - Adult
RYA Level 1 Start Sailing (Beginners):
One evening theory followed by two days on-water practical.
This is an introduction to the basics. You'll learn how to launch, steer, and handle a dinghy in light winds, giving you a fun, safe, and confidence-building start on the water.
RYA Level 2 Basic Skills (Intermediate):
One evening theory followed by two days on-water practical.
Builds on Level 1 and teaches you the skills needed to sail independently in moderate conditions. You'll refine your boat handling and gain a deeper understanding of sailing theory and safety.
We also organise adult combined RYA Level 1 and 2 courses. The format, content and delivery follows the guidelines laid down by the RYA. The sessions run over three evenings and four Saturdays. The training is carried out in our double handed Wanderer dinghies with an instructor on board initially. These sessions are aimed at beginners and at the end of the sessions the sailors should be competent to sail in light winds. The sessions are open to non-members of the club but we hope you enjoy yourself so much you will want to join us!
We also offer shorter beginners courses to RYA Level 1 during the summer months using single handed Topper dinghies.

Sail in Company
Our Club Night every Friday through the season with supported sailing. Starting on May 15th 2026.
This is a great opportunity for sailors of any ability to come and improve their skills. Our more experienced members are available to give tips and advice and we regularly have a safety boat on the water for your reassurance. We look forward to seeing you on Friday evenings from May.
